Reason: With a couple of struggling pitchers on the mound, and the thin air of Colorado, look for a high scoring contest on Wednesday evening.
The Pirates will hand the ball to Mark Redman. He has allowed five earned runs or more in six of his last eight starts overall. In his last start he lasted just 2 1/3 innings and allowed six earned runs against the Padres. With the Rockies having hammered lefties to the tune of a .321 average at home, he could be in for another rough outing on Wednesday.
Rockies starter Aaron Cook was hit hard in his only start at Coors Field this season, allowing seven earned runs in 4 1/3 innings of work. While the Pirates do not appear to have a lineup to be feared, they have been hitting well as of late, putting up at least six runs in five of their last six games. They'll get their share of runs on Wednesday.
As usual we have a high total to deal with in Colorado, however this one should sail over the total.
